Corpus Christi Songwriters, a pending 501(c)3 Texas nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing resources, education and a springboard for local songwriters in the Corpus Christi area. Founded in 2014, CC Songwriters hosts several events throughout the year – including In The Rounds (an Open Stage for original music only) the second Sunday of EVERY MONTH at Executive Surf Club; Presents: Showcases every quarter months at various venues; Workshops and Retreats throughout the year, and the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival, held every February.
Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival – Since 2018, the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival has brought in hundreds of songwriters for a multi-day event spread across multiple venues in downtown Corpus Christi, featuring song swap showcases, headliners such as Ben Kweller, Walt Wilkins, Ian Moore, Susan Gibson, Adam & Chris Carroll; workshops, panels, and awards ceremonies.
CC Songwriters: In The Rounds – Corpus Christi Songwriters has been on a mission to spread the interest in original music around Corpus Christi and its surrounding areas. Partnering with Executive Surf Club, the Corpus Christi Songwriters “In The Rounds” create an intimate environment welcoming new and seasoned songwriters to share their songs with an attentive and engaged audience. Invited guest songwriters host each month. The format is simple: each songwriter is allowed to perform two songs (they can be new songs, or old songs, but they must be ORIGINAL songs). Once everyone has shared their songs, stories and inspirations behind them, the cycle will begin again.
CC Songwriters Presents: Showcases Dedicated to spotlighting some of the best, daring and unique original music, CCSW invites 4-5 regional songwriters to perform every quarter, rotating between various venues in Corpus Christi – to spotlight the best live music venues in the Coastal Bend.
CC Songwriters: Workshops – Our organization hosts or partners with several workshops throughout the year, including in February – during the annual Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival. These workshops focus on the educational side of our mission, and run the gamut from craft, business, networking, and everything in between.
CC Songwriters: Retreat – Beginning in 2024, our organization will host one Songwriting Retreat in the fall of each year – kicking off on Thursday evening and running through Sunday. The retreat will operate as an artist’s haven, and be all-inclusive with meals, lodging and writing materials included in the ticket price.
