Aspiring and seasoned musicians come together to share ideas, refine their skills, and create new music in a casual setting. The 2024 Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival Workshop Series brings it all together with four unique topics. Saturday Workshops – Seaman Center
Inside the Music Industry: 10:30 am – 11:45 am
Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival headliner Tony Scalzo leads a conversation about the music industry. The veteran songwriter and touring veteran from Fastball will have an open discussion on his experience in the music industry. He’ll provide a unique perspective on the creative process, trends, and navigating the business landscape. This workshop will include a Q&A for attendees.
Integrating a Looper Pedal: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Josh Glenn, San Antonio songwriter, brings a niche session to the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival Workshop series with a comprehensive how-to on integrating a Looper pedal into the creative process. Attendees will discover how this simple piece of equipment can assist with robust live performances, plan arrangements that leave a lasting impact on the listener and open avenues for collaboration.

Turning the Movie in Your Head Into a Song: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Award-winning songwriter Michael McNevin’s songs have enthralled music fans across the US and he’s bringing his expertise to the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival Workshops Series. Michael will instruct attendees on how to take the movie that’s in your head and reframe it as a song. By exploring their similarities in storytelling, emotion and creating vivid mental imagery, his expertise will help attendees craft a sublime song.

The Shape of Words in a Song: 1:15 pm – 2:30 pm
George Ensle is an institution in songwriting, having played alongside such icons as Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Billy Joe Shaver. His songwriting chops have captivated his followers since the 1960s. Taking a deep look into the structure of a song – from lyric structure, melodic phrasing and imagery – George shares his extensive skills with attendees to help them build a song on a solid foundation.
