General Info:
Corpus Christi Songwriters (CCSW) holds several Songwriting Contests throughout the year. Music must be original–no covers–and should include words/lyrics of some sort. Cost for entry is $25 for one song or $50 for three songs. Anyone is welcome/encouraged to submit original music–there is no exclusive region or home state/country requirement.
Overview:
Songs are rated based on Uniqueness, Lyrics, Music/Melody, Cohesion, and overall Appeal. Only MP3 or sound files are accepted; links to videos or postings on social media/websites will not be accepted.
Focus: The Song–how the music and lyrics work together to convey a message, tell a story, etc. Production quality is NOT the object of this contest; no need to book time in a recording studio if your phone has an audio recording function :).
Process:
Submissions Open: July 1-31, 2024
Round 1: Board Members review anonymized submissions and rate each submission separately.
Round 2: Final Panel Review by Guest Judges with experience in some area of the music industry.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 songs/submissions, and may include cash prizes, gift cards, mini-recording sessions, and more–stay tuned for details.
